The Sunday service is at 9.30 a.m. and draws around 30 people of all ages, from babies to 90-year-olds. It lasts one hour, and includes Holy Communion, Rite A. We enjoy the services of pianist Sheila Talbot and organists Roger Marks and David Walker. Preaching is led by the vicar and curate and aims to show the way to God, how to follow Him in this world and how to prepare for heaven.
The first Sunday of each month is an all-age service. On other Sundays Sunday School takes place in the West End room for children of all ages at the same time as the adult service. The teachers use a mixture of bible Story, craft and discussion depending on the age of the child.
Newcomers often comment on the closeness and friendship that pervades Sunday worship.
The Church is disabled friendly and has level access entrance off Southfield Road. Both toilets are disabled friendly.
St Oswald’s aims to include children in Sunday School, All-Age service and the annual Christmas nativity play, featuring around 20 children. Children’s vitality is a blessing to the Church.
